2100 Arch Street

HIAS Council Migration Service of Philadelphia was founded in 1882 as an immigrant resettlement agency for Jews arriving in the US from Eastern Europe. Today, it serves immigrants from all over the world, regardless of religion or nationality. Its mission is to rescue, relocate, and resettle refugees who are fleeing persecution or discrimination. HIAS provides legal assistance to help navigate the complex immigration system, as well as various social services and counseling that help families find stability and success in their new homes. Each year, HIAS serves close to 4,000 immigrants in the tri-state and Delaware Valley region.
