Harvey Finkle Photography: "Images of Peace and Justice"

(Untitled) Mexican Parade

1524 Sansom Street

Harvey Finkle is a documentary still photographer whose studio is located in Center City but who works in all neighborhoods of Philadelphia. For several decades, Finkle has provided views into the cultural, political and economic lives of Philadelphians at the margins. He has shot for dozens of activist and aid organizations, numerous galleries, and compiled three books, “Urban Nomads,” “Still Home: Jews of South Philadelphia” and “Reading.” Finkle thinks of himself as providing a platform for people who sometimes can’t be heard: the poor, recent immigrants, the homeless, and the disabled. He continues to work on new projects, communicating stories of communities and individuals to the world with stunning images.
